Cuddle Doon was built in 1899 as a Miner's Cottage. One of the cottages accommodates four people and the other six people. The three bedroom home has two bathrooms, quiet air-conditioning and two bedroom ceiling fans. The two bedroom cottage has been decorated with quaint furnishings including a 100 year old brass bed and a marble top wash stand. Both bedrooms have queen-size beds. Quiet air-conditioners in both bedrooms and lounge. Rutherglen is situated in the middle of many interesting historic towns: Chiltern, Beechworth, Yackandandah, Bright, Mount Beauty, Mount Buffalo, Albury, Wodonga, Wangaratta, and Lake Mulwala. All within a half to one hour drive, so you can make Rutherglen your base and have lovely day trips. Restaurants and Hotels: Visit the many top class restaurants and wine bars, plus three very good hotels supplying entertainment on weekends. Several of the wineries have restaurants. Antique and Craft Shops: Rutherglen is now considered a tourist strip for browsing. Golfing: Rutherglen has an 18 hole sand-scrape with watered fairways. Corowa and Howlong are ten minutes drive for Championship grass greens. Boating and Fishing: The Murray River is just ten kilometres from Rutherglen.
