Wallaby Track is part of the Goldfields Track, a superb 210 kilometre walking trail that connects the towns of Ballarat and Bendigo via scenic villages such as Castlemaine, Hepburn, Daylesford and Creswick.

Wallaby Track is made up of six one day (or shorter) walks that meander through the Wombat Forest and across the Great Dividing Range, taking in stands of white-trunked manna gums, fertile open farmland and pleasant lakes. You’ll also pass relics from the gold rush era, including old tramways, railway culverts and water races that once carried water from upstream dams to feed the sluicing systems.

Take time out in scenic villages such as Creswick and Daylesford.  Explore an antique shop, indulge in a massage, enjoy a delicious meal and stay overnight in comfort.

The Goldfields Track is part of the Great Dividing Trail, 300km of trails that provide a pathway to the hidden treasures of Central Victoria.  The other legs of the Goldfields Track are the Dry Diggings Track between Daylesford and Castlemaine and the Leanganook Track linking Castlemaine and Bendigo.
