Otira On Needle's Eye

Experience the peace and quiet of farm life while staying at Otira on Needle’s Eye. A working farm only 90 minutes from Melbourne

Otira is situated between the township of Cowes and the famous Penguin Parade. Located inland, surrounded by gently undulating cypress lined paddocks. The Island’s natural attractions are within 15 minutes travel.

The homestead was built by John’s parents in the 1920s. There are four in house rooms- two with ensuites and two bedrooms upstairs (suitable for family or friends traveling together) sharing a bathroom. The lounge room downstairs has an open fire. A delicious country breakfast is served in the dining room.

Children are welcome at Otira.

Two fully self contained cottages, one 2 bedroom and one 3 bedroom, cater for family groups. Cottages are well stocked with full breakfast provisions.

The Farm Cottage (three bedroom) is spacious to spread out and everyone to have their own space. A large backyard is safe for children to run and play.

Third generation Islander John is only too happy to take guests on a tour of the farm.

There is lamb feeding in season, chook eggs to collect, and Jack the boarder collie who rounds up the sheep on call.

Local knowledge is shared with all.
