Heritage walks – Goldfields

See the grand buildings on Sturt and Lydiard streets in Ballarat and the impressive architecture of Pall Mall in Bendigo, as well as the splendid Victorian streetscapes of Maldon and Dunolly. The heritage trails of Bendigo and Ballarat are a great place to start but many other towns throughout the region including Castlemaine, Maldon, Dunolly and Heathcote also have self-guided trails.

Other heritage trails worth exploring are the Eureka Trail which follows in the footsteps of the government forces ordered to break up the Eureka Rebellion, and the Eureka Reef Heritage Walk where you can discover what life was like on an 1850s goldfield.
