Three day food and wine tour of the Mornington Peninsula

DAY ONE - MORNINGTON PENINSULA
Morning
Depart for Red Hill in the Mornington Peninsula region of Victoria, a scenic 80-minute drive from Melbourne.

The beautiful Mornington Peninsula curves lazily southwards, from Melbourne along Port Phillip Bay to a patchwork of bushland, pastures, hills, vineyards, national parks and beautiful beaches. The area is a scenic region rich in wineries, restaurants and art galleries.

Using organic cow or goats milk, traditional farmhouse cheesemaking techniques produce speciality cheese to complement the Peninsula's wine and gourmet food. Open for tastings and sales, weekends and public holidays, from noon till 5.00pm.

Afternoon
Head out towards the rugged coastline of the Peninsula and take a walk to see areas such as the Blowhole, Bushrangers Bay and the Cape Schanck Lightstation.

DAY TWO - MORNINGTON PENINSULA

Enjoy a tour, wine tasting and lunch at Red Hill Estate, a 50-acre cool climate property. The winery and restaurant is located on one of the most elevated areas of the Mornington Peninsula and has spectacular views across the bay.

Afternoon
The afternoon is free to explore the area. Take a drive to the summit of Arthur's Seat and enjoy spectacular views of Port Phillip Bay and beyond. Spend some time discovering the many walking trails, craft galleries, the old viewing tower, kiosk, tearooms, gifts and souvenirs.

DAY THREE - MORNINGTON PENINSULA

To start the day, take a tour of Nedlands Lavender Farm. The farm boasts fragrant lavender, which covers the hillsides adding to the already spectacular scenery surrounding this historic property.

On your journey back into Melbourne make a stop in at Morning Star Estate. This substantial property is a Mornington Peninsula showpiece - a sweeping estate stretching from the Nepean Highway to Port Phillip Bay. A smart restaurant, tasting room and hotel all overlook a pretty rose garden and the sea beyond.

After lunch take a leisurely tour of the bay back to Melbourne. Once you find yourself in St Kilda, wander along Acland Street. You will soon see that St Kilda does more than just coffee and cake.
