Walking and cycling in Daylesford and the Macedon Ranges
Daylesford and the Macedon Ranges offer walkers relaxing scenic strolls and more challenging hiking. For the serious walker, join the Great Dividing Trail as it passes through the region via the Federation Track from Ballarat to Daylesford, Dry Diggings Track from Daylesford to Castlemaine and the Lerderderg Track from Daylesford to Blackwood.
If you are looking for a gentle stroll there are plenty of easy walks round picturesque country towns such as Daylesford, Kyneton and Sunbury. Wander round the parks and gardens in Mount Macedon, or take a quiet stroll around Lake Daylesford.
The best bushwalking can be found in the national, state and regional parks in the area, including the Lederderg State Park, Macedon Regional Park, Werribee State Park, Hepburn Regional Park and Hanging Rock Reserve as well as the Wombat State Forest and the Mt Disappointment State Forest.
