Heathcote

McIvor Estate

Heathcote is a small town nestled in a tranquil bush setting at the foot of the McIvor and McHarg Ranges. Founded in the 1850s, the heritage streetscape reflects the town’s gold rush past but it is the wineries and produce of the area that are the major drawcard.

Heathcote wine region has a reputation for producing some of the finest Shiraz in the world as well as other high quality red wine varieties. Taste the wines and meet the winemakers at cellar doors all year round or visit in October when the local winemakers gather to showcase some of their iconic wines at the Heathcote Wine and Food Festival.

To sample the local produce, drop into Cellar and Store on the main street or dine is style at Emeu Inn.

For those keen on bushwalking and photography, visit the Pink Cliffs Reserve on the edge of town and discover spectacular landscapes, wildflowers and wildlife.
