Opera Australia 2010: The Power of the Voice Celebrate the power of the voice through the sounds, sights and sensations of opera. Seven different productions come to the stage in Melbourne in 2010, ranging from an exciting and confronting interpretation of Tosca, a delightful revival of Mozart's popular The Marriage of Figaro, Baz Luhrman's exotic and colourful vision of A Midsummer Night's Dream, a return of one of Opera Australia's most celebrated productions, Rigoletto, and the thrilling world premiere of new Australian opera Bliss, based on the novel by Peter Carey. Four of the productions are new, and all seven are brought to the stage brilliantly by Opera Australia's ensemble of singers, dancers, actors, costumiers, wigmakers, designers, painters, technicians, directors and orchestral musicians.
