Golfing in Gippsland ranges from coastal links style layouts to courses set amongst the alpine countryside. From the rolling hills of South Gippsland to the courses of the Latrobe Valley and beyond to East Gippsland golfers will be pleasantly surprised at what they find through the gates of the region's courses. Far from the bustle of the city, Gippsland allows the keen golfer to play courses where the honesty box for your green fees and a vacant tee are the first things you'll come across. From there it's a case of tee up and enjoy the unique Gippsland experience.

WEST GIPPSLAND:

Drouin Golf and Country Club

Old Course Par 72, 6,078 metres
Blue Nine Par 36 3,003 metres

The Drouin Golf and Country Club is the only 27 hole course in Gippsland. The 3 nines are played alternately to create 3 different course layouts. The new Blue nine was opened recently and features a number of strategically placed water hazards and bunkers. The new second hole is a tough 165 metre par 3 with water both left and right of a narrow approach to the green.

Maffra Golf Club

Par 72, 6,056 metres
The Maffra Golf Club sits just a few short kilometres off the Princes Highway 2.5 hours east of Melbourne. Its pleasant green fairways, fast greens combined with a well wooded environment make a round of golf with us a pleasant way to spend a few hours.

The course looks out over the Gippsland Lakes providing many wonderful views. It is a very good course and a fine test of golf, with excellent fairways and very good greens and bunkers. All the usual facilities are available including motorised buggies if required.

Heyfield Golf Club

Par 72, 5,924 metres
The Heyfield Golf Club is set in a natural bush setting boasting 18 well manicured grass greens. The course is playable all year and is undulating, has no bunkers, has a tight layout and is heavily timbered. Hire clubs and buggies always available.

Lakes Entrance Golf Course

Par 72, 6,036 metres
Lakes Entrance is a traditional links style layout located next to the beach. The course features natural lakes, sand dunes, undulating fairways and coastal vegetation. Lakes Entrance is ranked in the top 100 courses in Australia.

Moe Golf Club

Par 72, 6,025 metres
With towering native gums lining snaking fairways and measuring 6025 meters, Moe golf course is one of Latrobe Valley's finest golfing challenges. Set on slightly undulating terrain, the course has several holes taking in views of Lake Narracan and the surrounding mountains; another feature is its good-sized greens and generous fairways.

Morwell Golf Club

The Morwell Golf Course is one of the most varied in the region with spectacular views down the valley from the second tee to vistas of the nearby wetlands, just beyond the boundaries of the course

Newry Golf Club

Par 71, 5,671 metres
An easy to play course with fairways lined with beautiful old redgums are a feature of the Newry Golf Course. The course boasts grass greens and only two bunkers. It is mainly flat and is an easy stroll with no hills making it suitable for people of all ages. Licensed club house.

Sale Golf Club

Par 70, 5,769 metres
With its undulating fairways, fast greens and huge pine trees, Sale has been referred to as Gippsland's Augusta. The scenic course is well bunkered and rewards accuracy off the tee. The signature hole is the par 3 6th, a tough test, requiring a mid to long iron into a well bunkered green.

South Pines Golf Club

Par 73, 6,078 metres
The South Pines course opened in 1990 and is located 20 kilometres west of Bairnsdale. The course is heavily bunkered and undulating and features one of the longest par 5s in Australia.

Traralgon Golf Club

Par 72, 5,897 metres
Traralgon Golf Club is a scenic traditional layout, located on the Princes Highway on the outskirts of Traralgon. Pines trees and native gums line the fairways and a number of bunkers, lakes and creeks place an emphasis on accuracy. The 7th hole is a long 506 metre par 5 requiring length and accuracy off the tee to set up the approach to the green.

Yallourn Golf Club

Par 72, 6,002 metres
Situated in the heart of the Latrobe Valley, one hour east of Melbourne and just four kilometres from the Princes Freeway, Yallourn Golf Club offers suberb playing conditions all year round.

Yarram Golf Club

Par 72, 5,761 metres
Located east of Yarram, the Yarram Golf Club is one of Gippsland's premier golf courses inviting you to experience the excellent year round playing conditions on a watered sandbelt course. Queues are a rarity and a sense of ease and relaxation is always present. Koalas and other native wildlife are regularly seen on this tranquil natural bush setting course. The Yarram golf club course is 18 holes and hire clubs and buggies are available. Club house is licensed and has snack and BBQ facilities.

EAST GIPPSLAND:

Mallacoota Golf and Country Club

Par 71, 5,731 metres
Located close to the water, Mallacoota Golf and Country Club is an undulating links style course. The layout offers a variety of holes from thick tea-tree lined coastal holes exposed to the wind, to inland holes lined by large eucalypts.

Omeo Golf Club

Par 70, 5,598 metres
Omeo Golf Club is an undulating course following a gently flowing trout stream. The nine-hole layout is set in natural bushland and includes a number of bunkers and a water hazard.

Tambo Valley Golf Course

Tambo Valley Golf Course is a demanding nine-hole course set in a mature pine plantation surrounded by picturesque native mountains.
