Corowa
Corowa, located on the northern banks of the Murray River and the New South Wales-Victoria border, is a heritage town renowned as the birthplace of Australian Federation. Nearby is the town of Howlong and the Rutherglen wine region.
History
After hosting the historic Federation Conference in 1893, which paved the way for a national, elected government, Corowa became known as the birthplace of Australian Federation.
Today visitors can take a self-guided walking tour around the historic buildings of Corowa to discover the story of the birthplace of Federation, or drop in at the Federation Museum, where the Australian Federation movement is celebrated with photographs and historic documents.
On and around the Murray River
Enjoy a picnic on the banks of the Murray or wander along a wetlands trail to see native birds and wildlife. Play a round of golf at the Corowa Golf Resort, a 27-hole championship golf course or the Howlong Country Golf Club, a challenging 18-hole course. Cast a line for Murray Cod or visit the Murray Bank Yabby Farm.

Head to local cellar doors and sample the world renowned muscats and tokays of the Rutherglen wine region.
