| Many try to copy the Fat formula but fail to capture the right blend of contemporary quirk, retro nostalgia and streetwise chic. The boutique that launched a thousand designers, several now-established brands like Sass & Bide and Tsubi still grace the racks alongside numerous emerging labels. But clothes are really only one part of the equation. Fat isn’t afraid to follow a whim, stocking musical instruments, avant garde ceramics or baby wear with attitude. And, ironically, that fearless approach has landed the store in one of the city’s most fashion focused centres.
