| With slick floors, a creamy stone bar-front and shiny happy staff, this restaurant still has that distinctive sheen of newness. Although it is usually only open for breakfast and lunch (apart from Friday nights), the space boasts the most utterly fabulous shaggy light features, which would not be out of place in one of Melbourne's chic lounge bars. Rather than a huge cafe menu, Wheat has opted for a small-ish menu of flavoursome, largely Italian-influenced mains. Lunch dishes include homemade duck and mushroom tortellini, or red wine-braised lamb shanks, while breakfast ranges from a sensible fruit salad to an utterly indulgent bowl of hot chocolate with banana and chocolate bread.
