| The entrance to this Chinese restaurant consists of a simple double door under a blazing neon sign. However, while the first impression is perhaps more consistent with a certain type of gentlemen's club, the interior is surprisingly chic. Tastefully decorated in shades of chocolate brown and lime green, the people behind Crystal Jade have put almost as much effort into their decor as they have into their extensive menu. This War and Peace-style tome centres around seafood, much of which is still swimming in the tanks that line one wall. The seafood dishes might range from a traditional Singapore chilli mud crab to a more unusual baked lobster with French goose liver pate. Beyond the sea, the menu includes all the most popular Chinese dishes, including those in a section helpfully headed 'old favourites'.
