The Open Range Zoo, wineries, museums together with indigenous and colonial sites of significance are all close by for the visitor to discover. Just outside the front door there is a wooden boardwalk than enables visitors to approach the water and experience the unique bird life especially the Pelicans. If you enjoy snorkeling then there is a wide variety of sea life to discover. Take time to explore the rock pools, jump across the basalt rocks, and investigate the sanctuaries and coves. Mary and John, your hosts can provide a wonderful seafood lunch on Sundays, where you can get fresh seafood at Gem Pier in Williamstown, then bring your "catch" of mussels, prawns or fish back to the bed and breakfast where a sumptious lunch will be prepared for you, complimented by local wines. You may like to join them in the kitchen and be involved in the preparation of the meal or just enjoy a long leisurely lunch. During the winter months, the open fire will entice the visitor to enjoy the changing moods of the bay as they sip a glass of champagne, hot chocolate or latte. The pot belly fire in the covered secret garden is also a place of relaxation and contemplation for wintry days.
