The Goldfields Track

Walking the Great Dividing Trail

The Goldfields Track is a superb 210 kilometre walking and cycling trail that connects the towns of Ballarat and Bendigo via scenic villages such as Castlemaine, Hepburn, Daylesford and Creswick.

Take an easy day walk, or don your boots and backpack and follow all or part of this magnificent trail as it weaves its way through old mining sites, silent forests, tranquil waterways and across the Great Dividing Range.

The trail is split into three tracks, each with shorter sections and walks, so its very easy to plan anything from a scenic stroll to a challenging hike on any track.
