I have wonderful memories of staying on Phillip Island, it was a tiny seaside village, the last bit of Melbourne before ..... splash and you were in the sea.
The people were so freindly, not to mention the sun, sea and sand!!
Here I was 47 standing in an almost identical village to where I lived in England. A small town renowened for building nuclear subs. But there was a 12 mile Island joined to the mainland bt 100 year old bridge. The island was the biggest bird sanctuary in Europe, breathtaking views, sea & sand but not much sun.
Phllip Island had natutre reserves with, koalas and ther equally noted specimens living in the area.
I was at the end of the earth!!! My husband needed a haircut badly, so we went to the only red and white striped pole, We were the only customers, as we had awaiting the barber in the carpark.
We got talking, and you will never guess what.... He had been married to a girl from Barrow-in-Furness, and I KNEW THE FAMILY...we'd both spent many wonderful hours on Walney Island..... SPOOKY
OR WHAT???
I'd love to go back to Phillip island oneday the home of the fairy penguins!
What a strange encounter!
