My hidden Melbourne gem is the funk band Pablo Discobar. We have many great Polynesian soul bands in New Zealand and often lament their lack while visiting Australia. What a wonderful surprise to discover a group playing soul with such gusto live in Federation Square on a muggy Melbourne afternoon. The street was humming. People of all ages were dancing in an uninhibited manner. My shopping-weary feet happily joined them. What a wonderful ambassadors for the City of Melbourne.

It's great to have positive comments about Melbourne - we usually only hear the News and it's practially all detrimental - so keep up the positive stuff on a great city!
