Gentrification of our alleyways may offer more opportunities to drink a latte while mocking the counter-counter-culturalists trying to find a wall where they can affix their heavily ironic stencil, but there have been some casualties along the way:
- Galliard and Trumble - antiques, Norman Lindsay prints, 1970s and earlier home decor - Flinders Lane, now a porn store, cheap jewellery store and expensive clothing store.
- Missing Link Records - has moved from its Flinders Lane location, now a shoe store.
- Spunk second hand clothing store - the arcade off Flinders Lane where it resided is now the entrance to residential apartments.
I miss the old Flinders Lane.
