Rently my partner and I decided to go to Melbourne for the weekend. We stayed there with family and had a fantastic weekend. I particulasrly enjoy the culture of Melbourne and its people. The highlight of the weekend was attending the first day of the Spring Carnival at Flemington Racetrack. The weather was lovely and the atmosphere was fantastic. People were there dressed in various attire some lovely fashion and several groups of men on Stag parties. The course was immaculate with the track continually being raked between races along with several people picking up rubbish from the grass.

We also on the our last day went to the Sunday markets alongside the Yarra where I was able to shop for our new home in Invercargill New Zealand before dining at the famous World Restaurant a short walk away. The service and menu at World is fantastic and I would never visit Melbourne without dining there. My partner enjoyed the crocodile and also the kangaroo at World. My nephew (18 months) loved the colouring in package he was given and the food off the kids menu was of a high standard.

Next visit to Melbourne will include dinner at World along with a day at Mooney Valley trotting meeting.
