Start with breakfast at Babka's bakery cafe. I won't even try & recommend what to have - whatever takes your fancy for a 'pre-shopping' wake up. It's all freshly baked, and scrumptious.
Then take the 86 tram, or walk off breakfast, a couple of stops up Smith Street to the clearance stores. These stores aren't as well known as DFO or Bridge Road, and there aren't as many. However they're just as good value. If you're after something different, you're likely to find it here; there're a few more 'retro' and unique boutiques here. Personally, however, it's the Nike, Adidas, Kathmandu, and Mountain Designs outlets that are my destinations! I travel to Melbourne, to buy my outdoor & sporting clothes!
So, after you've shopped out the outlets, head back down Smith Street to my favourite cafe in the world. Gluttony's it's a Sin. It's just up from Babka's. Don't let the unassuming, simple signage put you off. The food here is amazing. Again, have what jumps out at you - it's very eclectic, but all delicious. Whatever you choose, though, you MUST save room for their cakes. These are the MOST AMAZING cakes - all made on premises, and like nothing you'll ever have seen or eaten. It's not your typical mud cake or cheesecake. Let your tastebuds go on a journey of discovery to heaven! I dream about these cakes, and Gluttony's is always my FIRST destination as soon as I arrive into Melbourne.
After this, you'll probably need a siesta!
Have a great weekend!
