Hike in camp sites - Great Ocean Walk
Nothing beats the freedom of walk in, walk off camping along your Great Ocean Walk route.
Overnight hikers intending to use Great Ocean Walk campsites must obtain a camping permit at least 2 weeks in advance of their hike start-date.
Pitch your tent at one of these walkers' camp sites on route and wake up in a spectacular natural setting.

There are seven purpose built hike-in Great Ocean Walk campsites for registered campers. Refer to the map for locations. They have tent pads, toilets, shelters, rainwater tanks (untreated) and camp tables. Hike-in campsites are fuel stove only. There are 8 tent pads catering for 2-3 person tents at each site. Elliot Ridge, Blanket Bay and Cape Otway hike-in campsites also have dedicated group areas catering for a further 7 tents.
New composting toilets have been installed at all sites except Blanket Bay and Aire River, where there are existing facilities at the nearby drive-in campsites. To ensure composting toilets work effectively please do not put rubbish down them. There is no car access to hike in campsites.
