| The Koorie Heritage Trust was founded to preserve and promote the living culture of south-eastern Australia’s Indigenous people. Another aim is to foster the spirit of reconciliation, a spirit embodied by the Koorie and non-Koorie people working together at the Trust. The KHT cultural centre features two gallery spaces for contemporary Koorie artists, a permanent historical exhibition including ancient artefacts and resource library containing rare books and documents. But one of the most interesting aspects is the oral history unit which works to record and safeguard the stories of Koorie elders for future generations. Copyright © 2006 |
