Skiing
Victoria's major downhill ski resorts include Mount Buller, Falls Creek and Mount Hotham, with Mt Stirling and Mt Baw Baw also offering a selection of downhill slopes. Ski lifts are easy to ride and breakthroughs in ski equipment, especially new carve skis, have made it much easier to learn the basics.
Whether you're just starting out or you're a seasoned expert who can navigate the steepest slopes with ease, you'll get more out of your snow holiday if you ski the runs that are best suited to your level. Victoria's alpine resorts offer a variety of terrains to suit every ability:
Beginner (Green) Runs
Take your time learning to ski on the wide, gentle slopes of the green runs. Booking a group or individual lesson is a great way to learn the basics.
Intermediate (Blue) Runs
Challenge yourself and practice moves learnt on the green runs.
Advanced (Black) Runs
Only for the experienced skiers, head for the chutes and steeps of the black runs, and get your adrenalin fix.
