| For those allowed entrance into its hallowed confines, Boutique, situated in the thriving heart of Melbourne's fashion district, offers a veritable paradise of earthly delights. In the mere three nights a week it's open, Boutique satisfies the varied cravings of fashionistas, '80s children and A-list celebrities - as well as those from lists further down the alphabet. As with most of its lounge bar contemporaries, Boutique has the standard issue plush booths and seaters. But what other bars don't have is the buttock impressions left by millionaires. A veritable home away from home for many a high-flying celebrity, Boutique has entertained the likes of Duran Duran band members, James Blunt, Tina Arena and those indefatigable socialites, the Hilton sisters. Boutique is also a favoured location for well-known AFL footballers and their glamorous blonde companions, potentially providing an opportunity to see the next day's tabloid headline in action. On Fridays you can catch '80s hits (think DJs spinning Blondie, KISS, Prince, The Cars et al) or choose Saturday night when Boutique hosts Fashion Saturdays with the elite of Melbourne's fashion crowd gathering to gossip about what people at the other tables are wearing - and generally try to out-fabulous each other. |
