The Outpost Retreat at Noojee is set on 110 acres, The Outpost Retreat is a multi-function tourism, restaurant and accommodation business enjoying the superb natural scenery of the Noojee Forest. Situated on the side of a hill, in a valley where the Latrobe and Loch Valley Rivers meet, we offer visitors the added value that this location affords. We provide a 100 seat Australian country restaurant, our rustic "Toolshed" bar and bistro, and 4 guest cottages for overnight accommodation. We have a variety of packages for visitor groups of all sizes, whether they are seeking a spectacular day trip venue, a wedding reception or evening dining with the benefit of overnight accommodation. All in one spectacular setting. A part of the Outpost Retreat, this restaurant oozes rustic charm. Owner/chef John Snelling, has done his time in the city restaurants, spending 13 years at Cafe di Stasio, one of Melbourne's top fine dining spots. His own venture benefits both from this experience and from the wealth of quality produce on his doorstep in the Gippsland region. The Outpost is a great place to realx and observe the languid country charm of Noojee, while sampling the region's expertly handled produce. The Outpost received its first Chefs Hat in 2007.
