| Mercato is the homely hub of comfort grub in the county Victorian town on Daylesford. So homely in fact that owner and chef Richard Mee says he often has trouble setting his diners off on the homeward journey.
The four dining rooms of Mercato's 1864 timber building feature comfy upholstered chairs, high ceilings and polished floorboards. The friendly staff serve simple, full-flavoured food such as kangaroo fillets and spitchcock on chargrilled polenta.
