Beachclub

Situated on a mezzanine level of New Quay Promenade, Beachclub is one of the newest additions to Melbourne's developing docklands complex. They keep it cosy with comfy couches during the cooler months, but it's summer when this place really sets sail, with panoramic views across the bay from an outdoor balcony and benches made of bleached driftwood-style timber. The main room holds a large square central bar, blush red couches line the surrounding walls and a separate private function room is concealed behind cushioned doors.

Sophisticated and spacious, it's the ideal venue for a quick getaway from the CBD for a relaxing beer during the working week. Let loose on the weekends with Superfreak Saturdays, but you'll need to be prepared to wait in line to party it up to '70s retro, '80s disco and contemporary house DJs spinning till late. Here, sipping on a Gilligan's Island, Melbournites can indulge in a beach party, rain hail or shine.
