| Situated amidst the Middle Eastern mecca that is the East Brunswick end of Lygon street, Atticus Finch is a contemporary wine bar and lounge with an exclusive and intimate atmosphere, despite being a capacious venue that extends back from the main bar and cushioned booths to a more secluded armchair lounge and outdoor courtyard. The vibe is more high-class restaurant than the usual dimly-lit wine bar. Fresh flowers surround the lounges and all the wines are moderately priced for a range that extends to international origins with French whites, Italian reds and Spanish varietals to champagne from New Zealand. This is an unusual assortment that changes almost monthly to contrast the Old World with the new, substituting the usual brands for newcomers and independent vineyards and brewers. The beer here is exclusively boutique too - you won't find any of the regular commercial breweries represented. With Prickly Moses Pilsner, Franziskaner Weissbier and Crackenback Pale Ale on tap, this is an eclectic showcase for small independent breweries. Mediterranean tapas-style snacks are available to accompany an evening drink, while DJs arrive on Saturday nights to serenade drinkers with anything from lounge to rock 'n' roll, choosing tunes according to the crowd which, at this end of town, could range from students letting loose to elderly couples enjoying an afternoon sip.
