Just outside of Melbourne's cafe-congested CBD, Bedi's Indian Restaurant has cornered a quiet place on Park Street to continue providing quality and authentic Indian cuisine as it has done for the past 26 years. The table settings are clean and white beside colourful, decor with embossed wall adornments, dusty pink paintwork, plaster cornices and wall runners. These give the dining space an Edwardian feel a little at odds with the large plasma TV blasting sports events for fanatics eager not to miss a score during dinner. Though one suspects that it is these kind of touches, and welcoming service, that make Bedi's a popular haunt for locals - not to mention Davinder Singh Bedi's multi-award-winning recipes (such as the famous butter chicken cream) which have seen him receive national acclaim and guest chef spots on televised cooking and variety shows.
