29 July: Snow Bunnies
This week the Postcards team make their annual pilgrimage to the snow. Bridget heads to Mt Buller, one of Victoria’s three major ski resorts, while Glen and Loz take to the alps of Mt Hotham and Falls Creek respectively. So grab your goggles and join us for all the fun in our majestic snow capped wonderland.
Mt Buller
With just on three hours from Melbourne, Mt Buller is Australia’s most accessible ski resort. And being so close makes it the perfect mountain for day trippers as well as those after an extended break. Aside from skiing, Bridget checks out what else Mt Buller has to offer, from luxury accommodation to the National Alpine Museum, where you will find an eclectic collection of ski memorabilia and read about Buller’s history from cattle station to ski resort.

Mt Hotham
Mt Hotham is Victoria’s highest ski resort and is located a lazy four and a half hour drive from Melbourne or just 50 minutes if you choose to fly. However you get there, Hotham is well worth the trip. As Glen discovers, there's nothing like heading to the mountains over the winter months to enjoy the snowfields. If you’re really serious about your skiing, Mt Hotham is a great mountain. As well as catering for the serious skiers, Mt Hotham is also fun for first timers or those of you still finding your feet in the snow. With plenty of wide open green runs for easy skiing there’s no need to feel intimidated.

Falls Creek
Falls Creek is surrounded by the country's most magnificent scenery, boasts some of the nation’s best skiing terrain and is the only ski village where roads are left covered in snow creating a true ski in, ski out destination in Australia. Loz partakes in some snow bungy - part trampolining, part bungy jumping, checks out Silverski accommodation and wanders up to Summit Ridge Restaurant for a special meal. Falls Creek is without doubt Australia’s first choice for après activities.
