Food and wine – Phillip Island
Wineries in Phillip Island have a growing reputation for producing premium, cool climate wines with full fruit flavours. Visit one of the wineries and take in the outlook and atmosphere of the winery while sampling a range of their wines. You’ll often meet the winemaker who will happily pour another taste and your questions. Enjoy a light lunch among the vines at the Phillip Island Vineyard and Winery where light food platters are on offer.
For more dining options, head to the main town of Cowes where seafood and sea views are both on the menu. Or if you’d rather cook for yourself stop off at the San Remo Fisherman’s Cooperative and buy fresh seafood straight off the boat for a barbecue at one of the many foreshore picnic areas on the island.
On the fourth Saturday of each month Churchill Island hosts a farmers market, where a wide range of local produce is on offer including cheeses, organic fruit and vegetables as well as organic and free range chicken products.
