Marysville Alpacas

Moondai Farm
Moondai Farm is a historic property dating back to 1870 when it was a stopping station for the early Cobb & Co Coaches. It offers luxury accommodation for one couple and is situated 90 minutes from Melbourne, just outside Marysville.

For the fishing enthusiasts there are two streams running through the property and a barbecue on which to cook your catch. For others there's an opportunity to see a shy platypus, or to get up close and personal with the farm's alpacas, horses and the pet cow, Buttercup. Relax on your private rose-covered veranda and enjoy the magnificent scenery and the native birdlife.

Marysville
Marysville is a village for all seasons, nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range only 100 kilometres east of Melbourne. It's cool, calm and inviting in summer, features magnificent scenery and colour in spring and autumn and is a cosy hideaway in winter.

Marysville was established in 1863 as a stop for prospectors en route to the nearby Woods Point gold diggings. Today the town has a more restful countenance and is famous for its tree shrouded streetscapes. The area's long tradition of welcoming visitors continues today. At day's end you'll appreciate why Marysville's warm hospitality is so enticing.

Yarra Valley Dairy

Yarra Valley Dairy
Yarra Valley Dairy offers a delightful experience of fine food and wine, situated in the centre of a picturesque dairy farm in the heart of the Yarra Valley where you can taste some of the finest traditional Australian cheeses.

The cheeses are made from goats milk or from the milk provided by the cows grazing on the pastures outside the dairy door window. You can watch cheese being made through the viewing window or taste the hand-made farmhouse cheeses along with fine wines from small single vineyards. Enjoy the pleasure of good food and wine along with beautiful views of mountains, vineyards and pastures while the cows meander by on the way to be milked.

Mungo National Park

Mungo National Park
Mungo National Park contains the longest continuous record of Aboriginal life in Australia, dating back 40,000 to 60,000 years ago and who better to tell the story of Mungo, than the traditional caretakers of this land. Join Harry Nanya Tours and board the air-conditioned coach. Meet the local Barkindji Aboriginal tour guide who will interpret the flora and fauna of the outback.

Enjoy the trip out to Mungo, while the guide explains the plants used for bush tucker and bush medicine. While at Mungo National Park make sure you stop at the visitor information centre which provides information and displays about the park and its natural and cultural heritage.

Meander through the Historic Mungo Woolshed built by Chinese labourers which still stands as it did in 1869. Enjoy lunch at Mungo Lodge in the fully licensed restaurant. After lunch take a short stroll on the boardwalk to the lookout where erosion has formed the spectacular Walls of China, a 30km crescent of white sand dunes that were once the shores to the lake. Significant sites of well-preserved middens (campfires), cooking hearths and burial sites are visible.
