| The Brunswick Green is a bar that truly embodies the spirit of its neighbourhood - relaxed, comfortable and just a little bit eccentric. The side room off the front bar is a museum of kitsch collectables. Grandma's plate collection is mixed up with Asian prints, old tram signs and a random mish-mash of lamps, creating an amazing space to have a drink and soak in the kooky detail. Head out the back to the sunroom and enjoy the warmth of the summer sun or the wood fire during winter. Posters of Indiana Jones and Clint Eastwood watch over drinkers as they recline on the well-worn couches. The leafy beer garden has plenty of picnic tables and even some grass to perch on. There's alfresco table tennis for die-hard sporty folk, or games of pool in the front bar back inside. The bar has Becks on tap and an extensive collection of bottled beers, including 3 Ravens and Little Creatures. The menu of snacks and mains has the usual pub feel, albeit with a Brunswick twist. Bread and dips could include skordalia or chilli bean dip, while the mains list might feature roast harissa chicken, or fish and chips with smoked paprika aioli. |
