| Taking its inspiration from a unique feature of Melbourne's history, the vast and stylish Federal Coffee Palace in the GPO redevelopment harks back to the 1880s when grand and majestic temperance hotels, or coffee palaces which refused to sell alcohol, were all the rage. Although it doesn't look like they will be replicating the same level of prohibition, this is definitely the place for a civilised breakfast, lunch or light snack. The contemporary decor and service style is designed to reflect the fashionable GPO development on Bourke Street.
