Camping The Murray
With its mild, warm and dry climate, and spectacular wilderness areas, this region is an ideal destination for a camping holiday.
Set up camp at an outback national park near Mildura and take in a vivid night sky from a remote site or a campground with full facilities. For a unique camping experience, join an overnight guided camping tour with a local Aboriginal guide.
Bushland camping is also popular along the banks of the Murray River. There are many picturesque shady riverside clearings between Albury and Mildura and that make perfect campgrounds.
Here are some of the best camping spots but for a full list contact the local visitor information centre.
NB. Most camp sites are basic. Please ensure that what you bring with you, you take away. Please also ensure you take note of the fire restrictions in the area during your stay. Beware of camping under trees, as River Red Gums drop branches without warning.
