The successful little French bistro has undergone a few changes, to put it mildly. In a makeover of mid-life crisis proportions, this Toorak favourite has burst forth as a traditional Greek taverna, losing the Parisian attitude to embrace a more Mediterranean lifestyle. The cute and cosy bistro decor remains, supplemented by Grecian knick-knacks and a certain 'Mamma's kitchen' flavour that was not there before. From the kitchen, classic Greek fare is created from scratch. As a taverna, Alevansi is offering an entirely different dining experience, which appears to be going down well with the Toorak set.
