If you're not squeamish, sip on a mezcal mini - complete with worm - or retire to a wooden booth in the back for a more private glass of Australian wine. Imported Mexican beers such as Dos Equis, frozen margaritas, adventurous daiquiris and Cajun cocktails abound, with firm favourites including the Tijuana Teaser (containing Midori, Malibu, cream and pineapple juice) and the sparkling Coyote Cooler punch.

Finding something to soak up all that Latin liquor is no hardship. Coyote doubles as a restaurant, serving inventive Mexican creations. However, if you can't go past the classic grease-infused combination of beer and tacos, the kitchen whips those up too.

Wednesday nights play host to live, foot-tapping Spanish tunes. For a quieter night or as a cure for the winter blues, snuggle in beside the open fire with a few hot-like-chilli beers or Mexican coffees spiked with Baileys, Kahlua and brandy cream.
