| Metropolis is possibly the only place you’ll find the hippest person you know right alongside the geekiest. That’s because this bookstore’s primary concern is culture; pop and sub, unashamedly mainstream and defiantly underground. Sections include photography, music, film and design and books explore topics both esoteric and everyday. From hod-rod art to sneaker collecting, it’s hard not to get a crush on at least one coffee-table tome per visit. Metropolis also does a nice sideline in CDs and vinyl. Again the selection is suitably idiosyncratic; browse genres as diverse as folk and Scandinavian prog rock.
