| Chapel Street has an otherwise overwhelmingly European flavour, so Tokyo Teppanyaki has found the perfect location to serve up traditional Japanese hot-plate dishes to roving diners eager for a change. The decor is striking, almost like a theme restaurant. The main room is entered via a street-level footbridge, leading to an interior based on Japanese garden design and traditional arts - that is, littered with bamboo, Buddha statues and painted silk screens. The food is promoted as 'live entertainment' and it is truly theatrical, complete with kimono-clad master chefs who marinade, chop and toss the fresh seafood and gourmet fillets through the air to land dramatically on your plate or in your mouth, if you're a good catch. For the less adventurous, there's always miso soup, tofu, sushi, sashimi, or the simpler children's menu.
