Holgate Brewhouse is a family owned 100% independent craft-brewing company, cranking out classic beer styles on our microbrewing plant in Woodend. The Holgate operations have been centred at the iconic Keatings Hotel which was built as the major stop-over to the Bendigo gold-fields, where in yesterday horses would be changed and refreshed and passengers would stay over the night.

The hotel is centrally located to both Daylesford and Macedon Ranges attractions, and our staff can advise you on what to do while in the area. Or just relax and kick-back in the wonderful village of Woodend; take in the shops, cafes, antiques and scenery.

Our beers are all traditionally brewed with pure Macedon Ranges water and NO artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or process aids. Our Real Ales are served from Beer Engines fully imported from England - these babies pump up the ale from the cellar in the time honoured tradition.

Featured in both the 2005 Age Good Food Guide and Cheap Eats - offering modern Australian menu including house-made pasta, breads, cakes and platters of local produce. Many of the dishes, including our Fish and Chips and Beef & Ale pie, are cooked using the Holgate beer - and the menu includes beer matches with the dishes. Also features a superb local wine list, Byron Bay grown coffee and live music most Friday and Saturday nights.
