Getting to Avalon Airport from Melbourne

Driving:

  • Distance from Melbourne CBD: 55 kilometres
  • Travel time: 40 minutes (NB: Travel times may be longer during peak periods and congested traffic)
  • Car parking is available close to the terminal for $20 on the first day, $30 for two days, or $69 for eight days. Add $7 per day after that, and $4 per day from day 13 onwards.
  • Car Rental companies Budget, Avis, Thrifty and Hertz operate at Avalon.

Directions:

  • Take the Princes Freeway in the direction of Geelong
  • Turn left off the Princes Freeway at the Avalon Turn-off (Beach Rd)
  • Follow signs to Avalon Airport

Between Melbourne and Avalon:

  • Sunbus (Avalon Airport) Shuttle coaches operate between Avalon and the Melbourne's Southern Cross Station. Prices start at $18 one way or $32 return*.

Between Melbourne and Weribee:

  • Sunbus (Avalon Airport) Shuttle coaches operate between Avalon and Weribee. Prices start at $20 one way or $36 return*. The Werribee to Avalon service operates by pre-booking, with 48 hours notice. Pre-payment by Visa or Mastercard is required. In the opposite direction (Avalon to Werribee), you may purchase tickets at the airport service counter.
