Get set to explore Sovereign Hill, Ballarat these school holidays. Now in its 4th year, Sovereign Hill’s winter program has become a signature event for the attraction and is a hugely popular family experience. From 27th June until 26th July, visitors will be treated to a magical experience, with a host of special winter themed activities taking place, including ice sculptures, a snow slide and simulated snow falling in the main street of Sovereign Hill! For a limited time, Sovereign Hill will treat visitors to a special Frozen in Time themed experience. In addition to all the usual favourite activities, Sovereign Hill will present an interactive winter exhibition featuring a walk-in zone complete with huge ice sculptures in designs reflecting the period including a horse and carriage, gold miners, troopers and more. Thrill seekers will love the special outdoor snow slide and make believe snow falling in Main Street is a treat for all ages. Throughout the winter school holiday period, Sovereign Hill will offer a range of additional activities including Captain Candlelight pantomime in The Victoria Theatre, storytelling sessions and The Gold Museum’s Passport to Treasure. The best news is it’s all included with your entry to Sovereign Hill. Sovereign Hill’s other renowned activities include a Redcoat soldiers display, $90,000 hourly gold pour, sweet making demonstrations, mine tours, and plenty more. Only 90 minutes from Melbourne, Sovereign Hill is a perfect day trip from town. Leave the car behind and catch V/Line’s Goldrush Special train service at Southern Cross station, with a free transfer coach direct to Sovereign Hill’s front door.
