Oak Hill in July is a special place. Log fires crackle, cheerful volunteers greet you, and the Gallery offers an exciting range of traditional and innovative sculptures, paintings, prints and photographs by members of Oak Hill Community Arts Co-operative Ltd. At Oak Hill art isn't just for the elite. Each July members have the opportunity to show their work in a dedicated space with good lighting, and Mornington Peninsula residents and visitors are welcomed by practitioners enthusiastic to talk about art. For example: Ria Wilson creates colourful fabric constructions, Ian Jensen-Schmidt exhibits evocative acrylics, and Cynthia Johnson's crayon sketch lithograph is great. Often visitors to the Annual Member's Exhibition are aspiring artists themselves but haven't been game to show their work in a solo show. Oak Hill is about encouragement and inspiration. Everybody is encouraged, and talking to others of similar mind may be an artist’s next step towards an exhibition of their own.
Visitors can be assured of some exciting art - large and small, two- and three-dimensional. Affordable!
