Recently completed the re-vamped cottage now has a two-story extension which accords wonderful views of the surrounding area. The cottage is easily located by travellers from Melbourne and Geelong and is very close to the central shopping centre, Sovereign Hill, Eureka Centre, the Ballarat Wildlife Park and Kirritt Bareet aboriginal cultural centre and to Ballarat's full range of restaurants and hotels. The cottage is strategically located as a base for visiting the surrounding country towns and other places of interest including Buninyong, Creswick, Ararat and Daylesford. For those interested in bushwalking, arrangements can be made for guests to be dropped off a various points along the Great Dividing Trail's Wallaby Track to then walk back to the cottage. Suggestions of suitable day rides on bicycles including the Skipton Rail Trail are available. There are a number of small but interesting local wineries which can be visited at weekends in the Ballarat area.
