Boyntons Feathertop Winery

Spectacular views across vineyard and forested valley to rugged Mount Buffalo and over the high country to the west make the terrace at Boyntons a lovely way to while away the time. This friendly, unpretentious place beneath Mount Feathertop is a popular port of call for wine lovers, cyclists following the old rail trail that goes past the front gate, and those heading for the snowfields. Excellent cool-climate table wines are the theme, and exciting new varietals like Albarino and Grüner Veltliner show great promise.

Gapsted Wines

Gapsted Wines

Gapsteds smart, hillside cellar door provides a shady oasis next to the working winery. Sit on the outside deck under the sail-like awnings and enjoy views down the picturesque Ovens Valley and across Alpine mountains and hollows. The emphasis here is on table wines that over deliver for their price, an admirable aim and one thats successfully accomplished. When you visit, dont forget to seek out the rare bottlings of unusual varietals like Saperavi and Petit Manseng for an unusual treat.

Michelini Wines

Michelini Wines

The Italian flag flutters proudly alongside the Australian outside Michelinis headquarters in the tree-lined main avenue of beautiful Myrtleford, giving a clue to the fascinating cultural mix found in this alpine corner of Victoria. The wines show it too, with Michelini now specialising in Italian grape varieties like pinot grigio, Barbera, Sangiovese, Marzemino and Fragolino, rather than more conventional fare.
