Seals – Phillip Island

Seal Rocks

Not far from the Penguin Parade at the far south-western tip of Phillip Island is Seal Rocks – home of a colony of up to 16,000 fur seals. Close to the Nobbies rock formation, Seal Rocks boasts one of Australia’s largest fur seal colonies, with the number peaking during breeding from October to December.

Watch the seals sunning themselves on the rocks, feeding their young, wrestling, or flopping into the cool water. From inside The Nobbies Centre you can watch the seals through state of the art cameras, twisting and rolling in the clear waters. For a closer look, join a cruise to the rocks with one of the charter operators based in Cowes.
