ET's is a classy revamp of the classic Aussie corner pub. Situated on Prahran's High Street, only a block from the corner of Chapel Street, it seems at a great remove from the glass-fronted gourmet pretension of many nearby South Yarra eateries. With a modest painted brick exterior and bar-style darkened windows, the interior of ET's is light, spacious and airy with a selection of seating options. Choose from a traditional table and chair arrangement, outdoor beer garden or comfy leather couch by the open fire. It operates day and night as a bar and restaurant, so a full bar service is always on offer with a wide range of alcoholic beverages available to complement meals - though, with the emphasis on true-blue Aussie pub grub, one guesses the favoured drink is a long cold beer. Grilled burgers, pasta, parma and seafood (such as the signature chargrilled calamari) are combined with more adventurous dishes such as kangaroo fillet with chimichurri sauce, and crushed kipflers with black bean. In addition to main menu items, gourmet tapas canapes are available to soak up the excesses of after-dinner sipping.
