Victorian Opera's 2010 season is an extraordinary mix of compelling and enticing productions with four full operatic works, two concerts and two new Australian commissions. Each opera in the season deals with an aspect of woman- the woman betrayed, adored, scorned, the woman as schemer, as conqueror, the woman disconsolate and the woman as winner. For the 2010 season Victorian Opera introduces ballet star Steven Heathcote as the director of Handel's Julius Caesar, once again joins forces with Malthouse Theatre in a co-production of The Threepenny Opera, and continues to bring new and surprising work to Victorian audiences, including two brand new Australian commissions, The Parrot Factory and The Cockatoos. 2010 Season includes: Subscription packages now on sale, starting at just $72.
