Help and mobility aids of every kind can be hired in Melbourne. Arrange attendant help or choose from beds, wheelchairs, hoists, cushions and scooters. When possible, arrange attendant care and equipment hire in advance. Advance notice will ensure agencies can deliver you the best possible service.

DASSI provides one-to-one attendant care support, including assistance with personal care, mobility, rehabilitation, social/recreational, educational and community access. DASSI offers a short term booking service but you'll need to call at least five days in advance to discuss your needs.

Equipment Distribution Centre (EDC)

The EDC is located at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne. The EDC has a wide range of paediatric special needs equipment for hire, such as wheelchairs, crutches, breast pumps, car seats and port-a-cots. The EDC also sells a range of dermatology, continence and medical products. Also located within the EDC is a sub-agency for Diabetes Australia. The EDC is open weekdays from 8.30am until 4.30pm.
