World Lighthouse Day: A full day of activities to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Lady Bay Lighthouses Warrnambool. Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village is the base for this full day of activities across the village area. Flagstaff Hill Antique Roadshow: Throughout the day guests can bring in items, of photographs of items to be valued or assessed by a range of experts. Speciality areas include rare books, artworks, jewellery, furniture and other general items. This is a great way to see what that little item you have kept all these years is really worth, or find out its local history. Warrnambool Historical and Family History Groups: These groups will be on site to assist with local history or family history questions. a great way to get your local history story started. Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village Rare Book Display: Rare books that are held by Flagstaff Hill will be exhibited. These books are rarely on public display and include books from the original Warrnambool Mechanics Institute Collection. Warrnambool Artist Society: An exhibition of local art will take place through the day. A range of short workshops will also help you get started as a new artist. Lady Bay Community Bonfire: Right on dusk the community will be welcomed to join in viewing a community bonfire. Bonfires were often the first form of navigation before the security of a lighthouse was installed. Rug up and see the spectacular bonfire overlooking Lady Bay.
